2017 Club Trip Schedule

The following is the tentative list of scheduled official PCC fishing trips for this year. Although there are likely to be additional trips added on short notice, following are the ones currently on the calendar. Most of these trips are generally limited to PCC members.

January 16 - 19, Bishop: This is a mid-week trip to escape the crowds! Enjoy the year round fishing on the Lower and Upper Owens, Hot Creek, or Walker rivers. There will be an organizational meeting Jan 10, 1:00 p.m. at the PCC Clubhouse. Coordinator Tom Smith. 


February 10-13, Bishop
: This is a Friday to Monday trip. Enjoy the year round fishing on the Lower and Upper Owens, Hot Creek or Walker rivers. There will be an organizational meeting February 5, 1PM at the PCC clubhouse.  For more information contact Tom Smith at 626-570-1038 or tpsmith@earthlink.net.


March 11, Surf Fishing Trip:  Fly fish the surf outing:  thanks to the "big pond" to the west, we can fly fish locally, drought or no drought!!  Trip location currently TBD, will be determined closer to the event based on recent conditions.  Trip coordinator Scott Boller.  For more information contact Scott at sbollers@me.com.

April 29, Local Bass with Dean Endress: Fish local warm water species with Dean Endress of the Fisherman’s Spot. Space is limited so please reserve with Coordinator Carl Crawford hcarl.crawford@me.com


May 20-21, Eastern Sierra Beginners' Trip:  PCC fishing trip for participants in the Introduction to Fly Fishing clinic. Goal of trip is to introduce beginner fly anglers to fly fishing on a stream, river, and/or lake. Space is limited so please contact Ed Swanson at etswanson@att.net to reserve your spot.
 
May 23 – 24, Shad Camp with Fly Fishing Specialties: Over night camp trip on the lower Yuba for two days guided fly fishing for hard fighting American Shad. Meals and lodging provided by Fly Fishing Specialties of Citrus Heights. Anglers should proficient with a spey rod. $495 plus tip. June 16 19, Hot Creek Ranch:
This is our annual trip to Hot Creek Ranch (www.hstrial-hotcreekranch.homestead.com, a private fly fishing ranch (dry flies only) located on the famous spring creek near Mammoth Lakes. There are nine housekeeping cabins streamside for 18 guests. You can reserve and make payments through the PCC website. Contact Wenda Payan at wendaful1@hotmail.com for more information. 


July 8, Fly Fish the Surf Outing:  Thanks to the “big pond” to the west, we can fly fish locally, drought or no drought! Prior to the trip, an orientation clinic will be arranged to teach you the basics of fly fishing in the surf, including gear, stripping baskets, flies, special clothing and footwear, and the casting of sinking lines in an often chaotic environment. The specific beach and orientation meeting will be decided as we get closer to the date so as to optimize the fishing experience. Contact H. August 4 - 6, Kern River:
Fish the Twenty Mile section of the Upper Kern River. The group will share a guide from Kern River Fly Fishing Guide Service for the best local knowledge. For more information contact Scott at a sbollers@me.com



September 13 – 15, Southern Utah Guided Wade Trip:
3 days of guided walk and wade fishing in the Fremont River area of Southern Utah.  The Quiet Fly Fisher in Loa, UT will guide.Nine anglers maximum.  Budget $550 plus gratuity for guides.  $200 deposit due 31 Mar 2017.Space is limited so please reserve with Coordinator Fred Uno at fkuno2001@yahoo.com or (323) 376-4964 for details.


October 1 – 8, Southwest Colorado Fall Fishing Trip:
2 days drift boat fishing on the Gunnison River in the famous Black Canyon National Park, October 3 and 4, 2017. Overnight camping one night.  Flys, camping gear, breakfast, lunches, dinner included.  Cost per angler $775.00. 3 days wade fishing on the trophy trout section of Uncompahgre River (other rivers within easy driving are San Miguel and Cimarron).  Cost one day guide/3 anglers $183.00 per person. We will stay at the Ridgeway Lodge, 2 anglers per room. Cost $65 per night. We can only take 6 anglers.  A deposit of $390 will be required when you reserve a spot for the trip with the remainder due by July 1, 2017.
