This trip is oriented to beginning fly anglers who want to take the next step after completing the Pasadena Casting Club’s March Casting Clinic. A prerequisite for this trip is participation in the 2018 or 2017 PCC Casting Clinic. The trip will be out of Bishop, California, with participants fishing the Upper or Lower Owens River depending on fishing conditions.
Saturday morning, Pat Jaeger, a local fishing guide, will give a casting clinic on specific rigging for fly fishing the Owens River. Pat is a long time guide in the Eastern Sierra and a strong supporter of our club. After the clinic trip participants will move along the river with experienced club volunteers to experience the thrill of fishing, and hopefully catching, brown and rainbow trout. The plan is to have two beginners for one volunteer.
The trip costs $45 per participant to cover the cost of Pat Jaeger. Trip participants will be responsible to schedule their lodging and meals. Participants are responsible for arranging their breakfast and lunch. Of importance is to bring your lunch, including drinks and water for the day, with you since there will be no food service available steam side. Friday and Saturday nights we will have dinner as a group.
Trip participants will be responsible for all gear, including waders, fly rods, reels, line, flies, etc. An equipment list will be provided later.
