Founded in 1947, the Pasadena Casting Club is a group of fly fishing enthusiasts dedicated to the art of angling and casting, conservation, education, catch and release philosophy, and camaraderie through Club meetings, outings and events.

Awards & Affiliations


In 1965, the Pasadena Casting Club was a founding member of Fly Fishers International (FFI), formally known as Federation of Fly Fishers, an international organization of conservation-minded clubs. In 1976, 1986, and again in 2017 the Club was awarded the FFI McKenzie Cup as Outstanding Club of the Year, the only Club to win this award three times. 

The Club also honors members of the fly fishing community with awards such as the Merigold Complete Angler Award, Troebner Conservation Award, Cathcart Casting Award, Van Wagner Outstanding Service Award, and Award of Merit. 

The Pasadena Casting Club supports the following organizations: California Sportfishing Alliance, California Trout, Casting for Recovery, Fly Fishers International, Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps, the Environmental Water Caucus, and Trout Unlimited. In 2017 the Club received the Streamkeeper Award from California Trout.

In 2023, Pasadena Casting Club was appointed the Best Non-Profit Organization in the San Gabriel Valley.
