PCC Needs 20 Volunteer Officials!

Pasadena Casting Club has a very long and prestigious history in tournament casting. We want to continue that legacy and need 20 volunteers to become Officials and Judges for tournaments hosted by PCC. This is wonderful and valuable opportunity to contribute to our club but it does require training. So the club has organized a two day workshop to teach and qualify volunteers on January 5 and 19.

We are thrilled to say these classes will be taught by two of the greatest casters in tournament history, Henry Mittel and Steve Rajeff. These two icons are donating their time to come enlighten and prepare us for the intricacies of officiating and hosting a tournament.

The emphasis for these two classes will be to provide a thorough survey from the judge’s standpoint for each of the 12 or so games that are played followed by a careful explanation of the specific rules for each game. Additionally a short list of skills taught will be; rod and line measurement, judging of accuracy, event timing, distance scoring, and data collection just to name a few.

We plan to start the classes at 8:30 AM. There will be some classroom time and a little bit of travel to a grass location for distance judging but mostly we will be at the casting pool for demonstrations. We will provide lunch both days for a small donation to help with food expenses.

Upon registration for these classes you will receive further instructions regarding what to bring and a packet of important information to examine prior to these classes.
If you are interested in contributing to PCC as a judge or official, please register today!
